Welcome to The Bop Bop Shop!

When my son was little he called Grandpa "Bop Bop" and it stuck. To others he was known as Charles Juister or "Chuck". He's my Father-in-law.

Bop Bop was an Art History teacher back in the day and an avid collector of things he thought were "elegant." He loved a variety of things; metal objects - mostly brass and copper, intricate carvings, time pieces, religious archetypes, beautiful glass, books, and much more. He also has a special place in his heart for cloud formations, spires and cathedrals, the human figure, horses, and the stars.

Bop is my Father-in-law, and we bonded when he'd come for long weekend visits. We'd spend a lot of time thrifting - as he loved the resale shops. We'd end our day at happy hour, having a drink while cooking dinner and listening to Jazz. Often admiring our great finds.

Several years ago, he needed to move from his Elgin home he lived in for more than 50 years. At that time, he gave me the blessing to clear out his home to sell. It was challenging to say the least, but one of the most memorable experiences I'll ever have.

It was then that I began to really appreciate his curious nature and his great eye. Some things were really beautiful while other things were just cool. I was very  pleased to find his own art - portfolios filled with paintings he had done in his younger years including watercolor nudes and lithograph paintings.

He's still alive at 92 and lives in Oak Park Illinois. He loves to admire his favorite collection of Cloisonne vases, and drink chocolate milk shakes.  At this time, he's entrusted me to let go and share his treasures with you.

Please feel free to contact me if you're looking for something special, want more descriptive details, or would like to propose an offer.  It's my hope you'll find something you love that adds a touch of elegance to your home.

Thank you for stopping by,

Bridget Juister
